Fee charged for postal delivery of statements

As an effort to reduce the impact on the environment, we have been encouraging customers to view e-statements via online banking instead of receiving hard copies by post. Starting with statements for October 2023, fees will be charged for the postal delivery of Statement/Torihikizandaka-hokokusho.

    • Customers with a mutual fund account
    • Customers who are 75 years old or older (The fee waiver will begin starting with the statement for April of the fiscal year when the customer turns 75 years old.)
    • Corporate account holders

Important:

If you do not wish to receive your Statement/Torihikizandaka-hokokusho for October 2023 by post and wish to switch to e-statements, please complete the application via online banking by 17:00 on November 2, 2023.

For first time user You can start online banking right away simply by registering for a User ID and Password.

Termination of postal delivery of written notices to certain customers with no account balance and no recent transaction history

Start date: From October 2023

For customers who meet certain conditions, such as no account balance and no transaction history for a certain period of time, we will terminate the postal delivery of written notices regarding our services, etc. Important notices are available on our website. Please note that we will continue to send notices by post when required by laws to all customers.

Changes to eligibility conditions for free (or reimbursement of) ATM service fees for using ATMs at affiliated financial institutions in Japan

Start date: From October 3, 2023 (Tue) 0:00

Previously, customers with a Total Average Monthly Relationship Balance equivalent to 1 million yen or more for the month before the previous month could use ATMs for deposit/withdrawal at affiliated financial institutions in Japan* free of charge (or ATM fees reimbursed later). Eligibility conditions for this special privilege will be revised.

  • *Seven Bank ATMs, Japan Post Bank / Japan Post ATMs, Major bank / regional bank ATMs, E-net ATMs

Please note that customers can still use ATMs at SMBC Trust Bank branches, as well as Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ATMs, free of charge, except when these ATMs are not operating.
