From April 2025, procedures based on the new Acts (Account Management Act and Account Registration Act) regarding the "My Number System" started.

What is the "Account Management Act"?

Based on the "Act on Management of Deposit and Saving Accounts by Use of Individual Numbers based on the Will of Depositor" (hereinafter referred to as the "Account Management Act"), it is the system that deposit and savings accounts are linked to and managed by the depositor's Individual Number.
To request the following services, you will need to submit request forms etc. to SMBC Trust Bank.

Procedures Outline of the System How to proceed
Numbering Individual Number on accounts Based on your decision, your Individual Number may be submitted to multiple financial institutions all at once.
Account inquiry at time of inheritance In the course of inheritance procedure, inheritors may inquire about whether there are deposit and savings accounts at other financial institutions.
(It is a prerequisite that the decedent's Individual Number is registered for those deposit and savings accounts at the other financial institutions.)
Please submit the form, etc. at the counter of our bank.
Account inquiry at time of disaster In the event of a disaster, you may inquire about your deposit and savings accounts at another financial institution using your Individual Number.
(It is a prerequisite that you have provided the other financial institution with your Individual Number.)

Based on the "Act on Registration of Deposit or Savings Accounts for Swift and Secure Payment of Public Benefits" (hereinafter referred to as the "Account Registration Act"), it is the system that deposit and savings accounts linked to the depositor's Individual Number are registered with the government.
To request the following services, you will need to submit request forms etc. to SMBC Trust Bank.

A Bank and Savings Account to Receive Various Benefits

Based on the "Act on Registration of Deposit or Savings Accounts for Swift and Secure Payment of Public Benefits" (hereinafter referred to as the "Account Registration Act"), you may register your bank/savings account to receive various types of public benefits, such as pension, child allowance, and income tax refund.

The account for receiving various benefits is called "A Bank and Savings Account to Receive Various Benefits".

Only one savings account per person can be registered as "A Bank and Savings Account to Receive Various Benefits".
If you apply for registration of multiple accounts, the last account registered will be the account to receive public funds.
