From April 2025 (scheduled), procedures based on the new Act (Account Management Act and Account Registration Act) regarding the "My Number System" will begin.
What is the "Account Management Act"?
From April, 2025 (scheduled), the following services will be available based on "Act on Management of Deposit and Saving Accounts by Use of Individual Numbers based on the Will of Depositor" (hereinafter referred to as the "Account Management Act"). To request the following services, you will need to submit request forms etc. to SMBC Trust Bank.
- (1)Based on your decision, your Individual Number may be submitted to multiple financial institutions all at once.
(Such submission will be possible after April 2025. Until then, only the submission for registration at SMBC Trust Bank will be accepted.) - (2)In the event of a disaster, you may inquire about your deposit account at another financial institution using your Individual Number.
(It is a prerequisite that you have provided us with your Individual Number.) - (3)In the course of inheritance procedure, inheritors may inquire about whether there are savings accounts at other financial institutions.
(It is a prerequisite that the decedent's Individual Number is registered for those savings accounts at other financial institutions.)

< Customers who have already submitted your Individual Number >
For customers who have already provided us with your Individual Number, your Individual Number will also be used for the purposes stated in the "Account Management Act". We will also ask you to confirm your consent to the purposes of the "Account Management Act", when you apply for the inquiries stated above.
What is the "Account Registration Act"?
Based on the "Act on Registration of Deposit or Savings Accounts for Swift and Secure Payment of Public Benefits" (hereinafter referred to as the "Account Registration Act"), you may register your deposit/savings account to receive various types of public benefits, such as pension, child allowance, and income tax refund. The account for receiving various benefits is called "A Bank and Savings Account to Receive Various Benefits".
By registering your deposit/savings account as "A Bank and Savings Account to Receive Various Benefits", the procedures to apply for various benefits will be simplified.
If you have the Individual Number Card, the registration can be done through the Mynaportal website operated by the government.
From April 2025 (scheduled), registration can be also done at financial institutions where you hold your deposit/savings account.
