Termination of Use of Checks

Dear Customers,

Thank you very much for banking with SMBC Trust Bank.

In accordance with "Termination of use of bills and checks" and "Full digitization of bills and checks" initiatives approved by the Cabinet in June 2021, we will implement the following measures:

1. To cease issuing checkbooks in January 2025
We will stop accepting applications for the issuance of current account checkbooks effective Monday, December 30, 2024.
Transactions by means of withdrawal request forms and checks that have already been drawn will continue to be executed.

2. To cease accepting deposits of checks with a due date of April 2027 or later
By the end of March 2027, we will cease accepting deposits of checks with a due date of April 2027 or later.

For customers who currently pay by check, please kindly consider switching to payment by bank transfer.
